This latest donation was presented to Carmen Bellamy at Cory’s famous Sea Coast Restaurant in Marsalforn, Gozo by the CCU Angels Imogen and Erin. The monies were donated by friends and family of Dean and Sharon Roche of Birmingham as well as work colleagues from TNT and Mitchells and Butlers. A special mention must go to Bernard Gallagher of Key Construction for his very kind generous donation.
Dean ran 100 miles prior to Christmas 2007 after not running for 15 years. Dean said, “It was very difficult to start the run but it became much easier after he first extremely slow 20 miles. It goes to show how the heart is a remarkable muscle that will redevelop once you put some effort and exercise into it. The last 80 miles where much easier.
I am very proud to have learned that you do not have to wait until you need one of these life saving machines to support this worthy cause. Everyone can do their own bit each day, simply by walking to friends and family and dropping in for a cup of tea and friendly company but do walk home, don’t take the bus!”
