Concert Under the Stars at Ta Frenc

The Gozo CCU Monitors Foundation held its Concert Under the Stars on the 4th July 2010 in the gardens of Auberge Ta Frenc Gozo. Guests were entertained by the Big Band Brothers who gave a wonderful performance.

A record number of people attended this fundraising event, many of them came over from Malta, Switzerland, Austria and the UK.

In her speech, Dame Carmen Bellamy said that the dream of furnishing the Gozo CCU Ward with state of the art equipment, started three years ago and thanks to everyone’s collective philanthropic spirit, this dream is turning into reality.

Anyone who visits the Gozo CCU Ward can now see for themselves the transformation that has taken place in this very important Ward. Carmen said that it is amazing how so many people embraced this noble cause that she and her Committee have championed. Carmen continued to say that she felt deeply heartened and humbled by the support and generosity of all those concerened.and that it was due to this support that lives have been saved in Gozo.

The projects for this year, is the installation of screens in the CCU ward to replace the existing curtains, and the purchase of 3 ECG machines and trolleys that will help patients throughout the hospital. Carmen announced that delivery of all these items has been made and thanked Josephine and George from Sidroc Malta for their support and assistance

A special tribute was made to Ta Frenc for allowing the Foundation to use this beautiful location once again and for their hard work in preparing for this event. Ta Frenc has been great supporters of The Foundation since its inception three years ago and has assisted the Foundation in many ways. They heavily sponsored this event most generously and special thanks went to Ino, Mario, Joseph and all the staff for their continued support.

Thanks went also to Marsovin who have also supported the Foundation so well and once again fully sponsored the wine that evening.

Artists Rachel Galea, Emma Borg and Graham Gurr donated paintings to be sold in aid of the Foundation.

Air Malta, Astra Theatre, Ta Frenc, Rachel Robinson., Jackie Roberts, Martin Roddis, Arcadia and several beauty therapists in Gozo donated the raffle prizes.

Dame Carmen Bellamy and her Committee wish to thank all those who attended the function and everyone who contributed one way or another to make the evening a great success.

The next event is the Summer Sizzler on the 29th August at Ta Mena on the Marsalforn Road Gozo.
